Taiwan (Part 1) - Cingjing Farm / Evergreen Grassland

Wifey and I visited Cingjing, Taiwan in April. The place is located just 80 km from Taichung High Speed Rail ("HSR") Station or just about an hour drive. Its probably the Cameron Highlands of Taiwan so you will expect a lay back lifestyle, cool weather and beautiful sceneries there. A point to note though, it can be cold there depending when you go. We went there late spring so the temperature during the day was circa 16 degrees while at night it can fall to 10 degrees.

We stayed at an amazing hotel called Old England Manor which itself is a tourist attraction and we had made transport arrangement with them to get us from the HSR Station to the hotel in Cingjing. It cost us about TWD450 per pax.

Cingjing Farm (Evergreen Grassland)

This is probably the Number 1 attraction in Cingjing. The selling point here is the free roaming sheep and the stunning views. We arrived the place around 12pm and though its noon the weather there is still fantastic to walk around. It is a big area located on top of a hill separated into 2 sections and I think we spent about 2-3 hours here enjoying the scenic views and cool breeze there. The ticket price is TWD160 per pax on weekdays. Usually tourist will start off at the entrance located at the top  of the hill and go according to a walking path which eventually will lead them to the exit located somewhere at the lower end of the hill.

Cute little fellas isn't it?

If you are trying to free your mind / forget your work at office, this is the place to be,,,
The windmill gives the place a little European feel to it...

One of the products they sell there is the sheep milk ice cream. Tried it but I don't kinda like it. It has this mutton taste which in the end makes me feel like eating cold mutton...

More sheep... You can actually buy food to feed them but since both wifey and I are not very adventurous kind we decided to just watch other people feeding them..

If you follow all the way along the path it will eventually lead you to Cingjing Farm's Recreation Centre where you will find Starbucks, 7 eleven and several restaurants there. Nevertheless the distance isn't near and you will need to go down a long staircase hence not recommended for the elderly.
